Vanguard Laboratory, located in Olympia, Washington, offers comprehensive microbiological and chemical analysis services for a wide range of applications. The laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited, the most widely recognized and respected standard for testing laboratories, confirming its ability to produce precise, accurate, and reliable results. In addition, Vanguard Laboratory is accredited through the Department of Ecology and the Department of Health for the analysis of Drugs and Controlled Substances, ensuring compliance with stringent state and federal requirements.
Their advanced testing capabilities include endotoxin, heavy metals, purity, and sterility testing, as well as USP <61>(Microbial Enumeration Tests) and USP <71> (Sterility Tests). Peptide Purity and Quantity
To ensure the highest possible standards, each peptide undergoes comprehensive analysis for purity, identity, and structural integrity. Our testing process includes High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), which separates and identifies individual peptide components to confirm purity. We use Mass Spectrometry (MS) to verify molecular weight and sequence accuracy, and Amino Acid Analysis (AAA) to confirm the amino acid composition and measure the total peptide content. HPLC determines the percentage of the correct peptide sequence, while AAA calculates the peptide’s concentration relative to other components such as water and salts. Together, these methods ensure that every product is both pure—free of impurities—and potent, containing the exact amount of active peptide specified.
Endotoxin Testing
Endotoxin testing is an essential part of our safety and quality assurance process. Endotoxins are lipopolysaccharides (LPS) found in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, and even trace amounts can cause pyrogenic or fever-inducing responses in humans.
